As we turn the calendar to November, the holiday season is quickly approaching. Before we become fully immersed in the busy weeks ahead, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the tremendous success of our recent Illinois Fire Chiefs Association Annual Conference in Peoria.
This year's conference was another outstanding event, bringing together fire service professionals from across Illinois and beyond. The Conference Committee did an exceptional job assembling a diverse lineup of presenters, featuring both local and nationally recognized speakers who provided valuable insights and educational opportunities for our members. Holding the conference in the southeast portion of the Peoria Civic Center once again proved to be an excellent decision, creating a more comfortable and effective learning environment for attendees.
Our annual conference would not be possible without the continued support of our vendor partners. Their commitment to the Illinois Fire Chiefs Association helps make this event successful year after year. I would also like to thank all of our members who spent time on the vendor show floor, engaging with exhibitors and learning about the products, services, and innovations that support our profession.
This conference also marked an important milestone as the first annual conference managed by our new association management company, Wisconsin Association Management (WAM). Their experience and professionalism were evident throughout the event, and they helped provide a seamless and positive experience for our members. We look forward to continuing our partnership with WAM as we build upon the success of this year's conference.
I would also like to congratulate our newly elected Executive Board members, who were officially sworn into office by the Illinois State Fire Marshal during the Installation Dinner. We appreciate their willingness to serve and lead our association as we continue to advance the mission of the IFCA.
As the holiday season draws near, I encourage everyone to attend the IFSAP Annual Recognition Holiday Luncheon on December 11 at 11:00 a.m. at the Stonegate Banquet and Conference Centre in Hoffman Estates. This event provides us with an opportunity to recognize the dedicated administrative professionals who contribute so much to the success of our departments and organizations each day.
Please also consider nominating your Administrative Professional for the Administrative Professional of the Year Award. This recognition is a meaningful way to honor the outstanding work and dedication of those who support our organizations behind the scenes. Nominations are due November 6.
As we approach the conclusion of our 75th year as an association, I want to personally thank each of you for your continued support of the Illinois Fire Chiefs Association and for your unwavering service to the communities we are privileged to protect. The strength of our association has always come from the dedication and involvement of our members.
We are always looking for individuals who are willing to become more engaged in the work of the IFCA. Whether you are interested in serving on a committee, pursuing an elected leadership position, or simply have a question or concern that we may be able to assist with, I encourage you to reach out. This association exists to serve its members, and your involvement helps shape its future.
I hope you will take time to reflect on the many accomplishments of the past year and the positive impact the fire service continues to have across Illinois. Thank you for all that you do.
Stay safe,
Kent Adams, IFCA President
